  • Vacuum corners
  • Mop floor

  • Wash windows outside


Zone 3: Livingroom (also my bedroom and dining room, it is one room)

  • Vacuum couch
  • Vacuum under bed
  • Remove cobwebs

  • Wash windows inside
  • Wash windows outside
  • Replant plants, fertilise
  • Mop floor


Zone 4: Bathroom

  • Shower wall 1
  • Shower wall 2
  • Shower curtain (wash)
  • Wall behind toilet
  • Wall next to toilet
  • Wall behind sink
  • Clean floor (also behind toilet)
  • Clean grout
  • Decalcify showerhead
  • Polish shower fixtures
  • Dust above mirror
  • Polish mirror
  • Polish shelf under mirror

Step 1: Starting sweep

Grab a trash bag, and start in one room. Put in any obvious trash, and continue through the whole house. When one is full, close it up, and place it by the front door. Once you filled your trash bags, take them to the container before you do anything else. Sometimes there will be a LOT, and that is okay. Don’t feel ashamed for being in a rough spot, be proud of the progress you are making. Next, put all dirty laundry in the laundry basket. Sort the laundry, wash the laundry, and put it back in the closet. It don’t need to be put away neatly, it just needs to be clean. Don’t focus on anything else until that is done. Next, do a very non detailed tidy of each room. Just put everything where it belongs. If there are any ‘homeless’ objects, or things there are no room for in the closet, invest in one or two decorative baskets, and put them in there to deal with later. Week 3: Wardrobe simplification

  Evaluate your day to day needs Optional: create a style uniform (if nothing in your closet brings you joy) Build your capsule Create a loose organisation in the closet Store away anything not in the capsule Tip: At all times, remember this is NOT a closet declutter. You can do that at a later time. If you see anything you want to throw away or donate, you can throw it in a bag. But take that bag to the donation center or container right away. And anything you are not sure about, just keep it and store away for later. Evaluate your needs over the course of the month Before you can build your capsule, you need to identify what you need on a day to day basis. I will give some suggestions based on my personal needs, but always adjust it based on your own situation.
