Welcome
This is less of a blog, and more of a survival guide for when your life feels like chaos, everything stresses you out, and even brushing your teeth seem to be too much to ask.
I suppose it is a form of rehabilitation program, if you will, starting from complete zero. And I do mean absolute zero.
It all started for me when I went down with stress, about 12 years ago. I went from normally functional adult, to being on sick leave for about 1 year in total. Thankfully, I am back on track now, but it definitely gave me some insight to how it can reduce people to a shadow of their former self. And how long it can take to be 'fully' back to something that resembles normal.
It took me a year to be in a place where I could work again. But the housekeeping and self care took much longer to fully return to normal. The smallest task, that I thought nothing of before, suddenly seemed incredibly demanding. It was shameful, and lead to a lot of frustration, because it is something I felt I 'should' be able to do.
I spent a lot of time researching, and eventually found my way back. But none of the information was gathered in one place, and a lot of what I did find was too demanding for me. (the classical cleaning schedules)
So this is my gift from me, to anyone who may find it useful. It is the plan I could have used at the time, and what I fall back on in the rough times of life.
It is written based on a single persons life, but with tiny adjustments, it could easily work for family life as well. It could be helpful for people with stress, but likely also people with anxiety/depression/neuro divergents or anyone who just have a hard time in life. Or maybe was never taught.
The 'method' contains information about everything from home maintenance, organisation and general home life. But also about personal care, food planning and other helpful things.
So if this is helpful to just one person, it will be worth it. 😊 And if this is not helpful to you, then I hope you find something else that is.
I would recommend following the steps one by one, and giving yourself all the patience you need. How fast you will go through can vary a lot, depending on your situation and how much support you have.
Just remember, it doesn't need to be perfect, it just needs to be better than before. 💕
